Dramas & Movies – AryPlus
If you grew up in Pakistan or in any house where Urdu is spoken you will understand the feeling. Dinner has finished the tea is ready. Someone says, “Drama shuru hone wala hai.” Everyone then finds a seat on the sofa.
Pakistani dramas are more than entertainment. They belong to our evenings to our family arguments (“Why did she say yes to him?!”). To our group chats. They have also reached beyond Pakistan with fans in India, the Middle East, the UK, the USA and many other places.
So what makes Pakistani dramas special. Which channels deserve your time? Let us look.
Why Pakistani Dramas Feel Real?
The biggest strength of Pakistani dramas is that they feel close to life. The stories come from things we all recognise: families, marriage pressure, money problems, friendships, jealousy and the quiet sacrifices people make for those they love.
– Short and complete stories: Most Pakistani dramas finish in 20 to 30 episodes. You get a beginning, middle and end without the story being stretched for years.
-Strong writing: Many Pakistani dramas are based on novels and digests by Urdu writers so the dialogue and emotions feel deep.
-Clean family viewing: Pakistani dramas can be watched with parents and grandparents without anyone reaching for the remote.
-Great acting: Pakistani actors are known for emotional performances that do not feel over the top.
-Memorable OSTs: A good Pakistani drama song stays in your head after the final episode.
